In the summer of 1999, a decision was made to create a new conventional style
bus that would redefine the Type C category. A completely new design that would
offer better durability, reliability and safety with a driver visibility footprint
that no other Type C could match - a design that was truly integrated, not just a
body on a flat cowl chassis. With clear objectives in hand, a group of talented
stylists, engineers and product planners set out to define the future of school
bus transportation by creating an all-new innovative product, in an ultra-modern
275,000 square foot manufacturing facility.
After four years of market research, design, testing and fabrication, the Thomas
Saf-T-Liner C2 is a reality. Every body line,
every curve, every element of the C2 was designed and engineered to improve durability,
reliability, safety and life cycle cost - exactly as it was supposed to do. Drivers,
administrators, technicians and parents will all appreciate what the C2 brings to
transportation. In fact, school buses will never be the same.

For urban and suburban routes, the Saf-T-Liner® HDX is the best bus in the
neighborhood. Thats because no other rear-engine school bus offers a higher level of
dependability, safety, and economy. The Saf-T-Liner® HDX delivers rear-engine
advantages in a medium-capacity, lower-cost coach. With seating for up to 78 students,
its ideal for average-size routes. The rear-engine design allows greater
maneuverability through neighborhood streets, and the windshield is larger than competitive
Type-D buses, for a better view of passengers in terms of safety.

The Saf-T-Liner® EF is a high-performance blend of capacity, maneuverability,
and affordability. The Type-D body style offers better visibility and improved aesthetics.
The engine is in the front for practicality and economy. By offering a capacity range of
up to 83 passengers, the Saf-T-Liner® EF solves many of your routing
problems.

The Freightliner Conventional is the workhorse of the Thomas line. With the
capacity to carry up to 72 passengers in safety and comfort, the Freightliner
Conventional offers a level of durability and construction quality that's unmatched
at any price. Available on a Freightliner chassis, with special-needs options that
include a raised floor, wheelchair restraint systems and a variety of powered lifts.

Standard with outward opening door, 73" headroom, and a center, rear emergency exit and not
to be confused with a "van conversion", the Minotour® SRW (Single Rear Wheel) or
Minotour® DRW (Dual Rear Wheel) has many of the features you will find in our full-size
school buses. It's available on a Ford or General Motors chassis with automatic transmission
and pupil capacity of up to 29 passengers, depending on equipment ordered.
